For Immediate Release

Ellsworth – 20 August 2024: Statewide Inter Library Loan (ILL) services are expected to return on Tuesday, September 3. Patrons of the Ellsworth Public Library will once again be able to request items through the Minerva and Maine Cat library catalogs.

As this service resumes with a new delivery vendor, the Maine State Library requests that patrons limit their requests to avoid overwhelming the system with high volumes during the transition period in September. Patrons who would like to request more than three books at a time are asked to please spread them over a period of two to three weeks. This will help gradually restore full service while working through any challenges with the new courier.

The library deeply appreciates the patience of its patrons during this whole process and their continued understanding while adapting to a new delivery system.

The Ellsworth Public Library is a vibrant community institution dedicated to inspiring and educating the communities it serves in Hancock County. Through diverse programming for all ages, it strives to deliver equitable opportunities to upskill and engage in play, conversation, mindfulness, community, and nature. Housed in the historic Tisdale House since 1897, it hosts a collection of more than 46,000 items in-house including books, large print books, audiobooks, movies, music CDs, its growing Library of Things, and free access to the Ellsworth American’s online edition through the library’s Wi-Fi connection. An EPL library card also gives its holder access to the New York Times, and free passes to many renowned Down East museums. https://www.ellsworthlibrary.net/
