If you have not been introduced to the four elderly retirees living at the Cooper’s Chase retirement community, I really think you should pick up The Thursday Murder Club and get to know these sleuths with an eye for solving cold case crimes that the local police department have not been able to.
The leader of the pack is Elizabeth, whose past is a bit mysterious as she uses her contacts in the secret underworld of the government to answer clues. Then there’s Joyce, the newcomer to the group who takes notes and writes up all the events that have taken place. Ron, a social activist in his youth, is still spouting off for the recent causes of the day. The Thursday Murder Club is rounded out by Ibrahim, a retired therapist who helps with the understanding of all the players surrounding the cold case files.
When a local developer is found dead with a mysterious photograph left next to the body, followed by the primary suspect of the murder being murdered, it all appears to be related to an old Nuns convent that is to be dug up (along with its cemetery) for a new addition to Cooper’s Chase. Elizabeth and the other members of the Thursday Murder Club suddenly find themselves in the middle of their first live case!
