If you’re looking for a delightful, light-hearted, romantic comedy, look no further than Angie Hockman’s Shipped! The two main characters, Henley Evans and Graham Crawford-Collins, are very well-written characters with a lot of depth and it is a joy to watch their relationship grow and change. Henley and Graham are up for the same promotion and are both willing to fight tooth and nail to get it. When they are both offered a free cruise by the company they work for, which they can use to bolster their proposals for the new position, they both jump at the chance. As they get to know each other as people and not just screen names, they begin to see sides of each other they never knew existed. I loved the depth and dynamic that Henley’s sister Walsh brings to the novel as well. Her relationship with her sister and the side story of her failed relationship really add complexity and character to the main story. Tender moments, hilarious mishaps, and a warm, sunny setting make this the perfect novel for anyone looking for an escape. Hockman has really cemented herself as a figure in modern romantic comedy with this gem. This enemies to lovers story is like a modern fairytale for the ages! This book is a stunning debut from Hockman, and just a joy to get lost in. Loveable characters, an engaging plot, and a love story as sweet as drinks on the beach, may just make you want to plan a getaway of your own. I am eagerly awaiting Hockman’s next novel and once you read Shipped, you will be too!
